Ecolands Nursery

Seeds for the future

Through our profit-for-purpose model, Ecologic NRM has supported the Ecologic Conservation Foundation to establish the Ecolands nursery - a community nursery designed to serve landholders, conservation managers, and restoration practitioners across our region.

The Ecolands Nursery will grow a diverse range of local provenance tube stock. Local provenance plants are sourced from seed collected within the same ecological region, meaning they are genetically adapted to local soils, climate, and seasonal conditions - giving restoration plantings the best possible chance of long-term success.

A partnership approach

The nursery is being established in collaboration with Wildlife Unlimited and the Moogji Aboriginal Council. Together, we are building a model of resource-sharing that strengthens the capacity of all partners and the broader restoration community. This collaborative structure means that the nursery also functions as a shared knowledge hub, bringing together diverse expertise from across our region.

Local provenance tube stock: Genetically suited to local soils, climate and conditions for lasting restoration success

Community resource-sharing: A partnership model that builds capacity across organisations.

Profit-for-purpose

Ecologic NRM is proud to operate as a profit-for-purpose organisation. To formalise this commitment, Ecologic NRM has established the Ecologic Conservation Foundation, which holds and reinvests profits directly back into local conservation initiatives. The Ecolands Nursery is one such initiative.

The Ecologic Conservation Foundation ensures that the commercial success of Ecologic NRM translates into tangible and lasting outcomes for Gippsland's natural environment.
